Freshy opened in 2015, the 1861 Châtel Hostel is a modern and stylish accommodation located in a superb natural area. Waterfall, river, pine forest : this is what surround the hostel. Initially built in 1861, our chalet has a very long story. Very first hotel in Châtel, it has been created for the black spring running next to the hotel, famous for medicinal purpose. Then, a christian charity bought the building for their retreats. When tourism arrived to Châtel, they decided to renovate it to a holiday camp for kids.

After being closed for a few years, we decided to buy the place and renovate everything in order to create the first private hostel in the french Alps.

Everybody is welcome, especially those who love mountain sports, such as skiing, boarding, mountain biking, hiking, discovering or just chilling ! So many options to make you feel great : a friendly bar, a cosy TV lounge, a foodtruck with delicious homemade food, a sunny terrasse, comfy beds... And few meters away, infinite hiking tracks and skiing slopes, the very famous Châtel Bikepark, a nice lake for a stand up paddle session. And of course, our beautiful mountains always in the background.
